"Your call is important to us." It isn't. And that's alright, it isn't.

"You are currently number—" and then a number that goes up sometimes,

which I would like explained to me at some point.

And the same eight bars come round. And round. And round.

It was a bad stretch. You don't need the details and I don't want to do them.

And I sat on the floor with the phone on speaker and I let it play.

And somewhere in the middle of it, it stopped being annoying.

It's the only thing all month that hasn't wanted anything from me.

It doesn't ask how I'm doing. It doesn't need me to be brave.

Eight bars. Same eight bars.

And I know exactly what's coming next,

which is more than I can say for anything else.

And when a real person finally picked up, I was almost annoyed.

And she was kind, and she was quick, and she sorted it in a minute,

and I put the phone down, and the room was very loud.

I've looked for it since.
